I began making handmade books out of frustration. I design documents for a living, but the job I was in at the time offered no creative outlet. Making books allows me to explore not only page design, but the design of the book which is an essential part of telling a story. The process of making a book takes time; the concept needs to evolve, the selection of binding is crucial and may or may not work for the story you want to tell. The more complex the book, the more patience you need. And if you have to make multiple books, you soon realize each version is like a child; it will have its own uniqueness.
